NEW: Press release on September 22! See it here!

At 2pm April 17th, 1999 The User Friendly Project For Humanity was born of an earnest desire to educate and essentially effect change, using our unique tools and talents.

Our goal is to educate the netmasses as to what we can do as an online community to address the serious concerns of poverty and homelessness which we believe should not exist in this day and age.

Please join ShadowDragon and Iambe and our fleet of grassroots UFies with this huge project. We are asking you not for too much time, but rather earnest effort to help with this dauntingly humongous task of assembling an educational and informative site that will be an online resource, capable of putting Geeks and non-Geeks alike in touch with the resources they need to help those in the communities in which they reside, using the greatest resource available: the Net. A globally based site that will encourage us all to act locally. Volunteerism and social action is the backbone of any community. And really I think that we are the folx who best know the importance of a backbone.

We are looking to essentially catalogue online regional organizations that provide community service with respect to poverty and homelessness around the globe.

Our intent is to make this a GLOBAL venture. Participation from every little corner on the planet is needed to form Team UFies. Team UFies we expect will be comprised of Geeks from all regions and computing abilities. Linux users will walk hand in hand with Amiga users, on that same note, Caldera people will work with Red Hat folken. Your commitment to Team UFies will be what you are willing to give. It can be as small as sourcing out information in the community in which you reside, to heading a Regional or Technical Team.

Please note this is not for UFies only!!! Anyone who wishes to help us is more than welcome.
The pay is zip, but the gratification is huge, and the hours are your own.

You CAN make a difference. As a whole our mission will be heard.
